How Little Bunny Caught The Sun

How Little Bunny Caught The Sun

My friends Martin and Patty Nunez commissioned this piece from me because they wanted to decorate their newborn's room in fairy tales. This piece came from a story my mother used to tell me when I was little and it was my favorite. It's based on an old Cherokee tale of how Little Bunny used to have a long tail and was also an adept hunter. After he caught the sun by accident, his tail was burnt off.

Tell The Truth

Tell The Truth

I created this piece for a show at the Hive Gallery in LA in 2006. It's about how some parents awkwardly try to explain "the birds and the bees" to their kids. This kid takes all the euphemisms and creates a crazy sex scenario.

Pixel Girls

Pixel Girls

The Pixel Girls were done as an experiment. I recently saw Sylvia Ji's pieces for the first time and was fascinated with the way she did hair. I wanted to create some interesting portraits highlighting hair but also see what it'd look like if the hair was pixelated.

$400.00 framed, $325.00 unframed.

La Papaya

La Papaya

For about a year I was creating a sketch a day - sometimes two - in a small 4x4" sketchbook. I was at the gym and Keeping Up With The Kardashians was on so I went home and painted this in response. The overripeness of that show which is repulsive and attractive at the same time was my inspiration.

Red Reishi

Red Reishi

My mom was very sick in 2013 and getting worse. I learned about the powers of the red reishi mushroom and, in an effort to help her get better, gave her a few and painted this picture of one to go with the gift.

Silently

Silently

I started this drawing on chip board in 2006 and finally painted and inked it in 2010. It was inspired by my friendship with Gabriella Perez-Martinez, who I view as a protector/creator and also by the song Silently by Blonde Redhead.
